This is the Place Heritage Park

We had never been to This is the Place Heritage Park before, I thought that it was just the monument and a picnic area, but there is so much more. There is a whole pioneer village that you can walk through and different shops, the shops were closed because they were doing a haunted village for Halloween. There are old pioneer homes and cabins that have been moved here from all over the state. We had fun wandering through the village. We also went on the train ride that went around the village.

Hogle Zoo

This is my favorite time of year to visit the zoo, it is not hot and the fall colors make it pretty. There also is not much of a crowd compared to the summer. The kids had fun seeing the new baby animals that are on display, the baby elephant is so cute. We always have to get a picture at the drinking fountain.
Checking out the monkeys.

This is Zuri the baby elephant.
We also rode the carousel, a new favorite at the zoo.

Cute monkeys!

Children's Museum

We also went back to the children's museum, it was also a hit last time. There could be hours of entertainment here. We also went to the Clark Planetarium while we were at the Gateway and seen an imax movie about sea animals. That was fun too.

Ty in his cowboy hat. (He wouldn't take off his other hat)

McKinlee in her cow coat.

Lion House for Lunch

We had lunch at the Lion House Pantry, the food was pretty good. Everyone got a roll with their meal, they are the best. After lunch we walked out to the gardens around the temple and the kids loved the fountains. I am surprised we didn't have to pluck one of them out of the water.

Salt Lake Connect Pass

We spent last weekend in Salt Lake. We bought another connect pass back in August and got a buy one get one day free. We had two fun days of activities and good weather to go with it.

We made it to the aquarium again, since the kids liked it so much last time. They had a show that we went to that featured some of their animals that the take to schools during the week. It was pretty interesting to see the animals up close, and even got to touch a snake.A stingray in the petting pool.

Posing in the canoe and on the frog for mom.

I'm Ty

McKinlee is so funny lately, she makes me laugh. The other day she put on Ty's hat and came and said to me "I'm Ty". She kept repeating it and got laughing pretty hard because I was laughing at her. She is getting pretty silly. Ty thought it was funny too, he actually let her wear his hat for quite awhile.

Pumpkins in the Dark (Well Almost)

We decided to go to the Red Barn to get pumpkins and we got there a little late, but they were still open. The girl at the counter told us that the last ride to the patch was five minutes ago. We were a little disappointed, so we decided to get an ice cream cone to make up for it. As we were going to get in the car, another wagon was loading up to go back to the pumpkin patch, so we hopped on with our ice cream cones. It was a little cold, plus add the ice cream and we were about freezing. Oh well, at least we got to get a pumpkin.

Kids Day

Today was kids day at kindergarten. Mrs. Day has fun activities for the kids to do on this day and some of the mothers come and help with the projects. I went and helped today, it was fun to see Ty in his classroom. Today they made witches and got to parade through all the classrooms in the school with them.

Ty's witch turned out really scary!

Our New Cousin/Neice

We went to see our new family member, Hailey Jo. She was born on the 30th and she is really cute. Ty and McKinlee were so cute with her. Congratulations Jessica & Jessie!

Shooting

Ty loves to shoot the gun with Darren, he was so anxious to shoot the BB gun while we were camping. They have a lot of fun together.
McKinlee, enjoying her Pepsi while they were shooting.

Ty, checking the can to see where it hit.
McKinlee wanted to play with them too.

Ty got himself a chair to sit on before they finished.

Deer Hunting

While we were camping, Darren took Ty & McKinlee on a little four wheeler ride just out of our camp a ways and they seen four deer running through and the last one was a buck. Darren brought the kids back to camp and decided to walk back over there with his gun. He just about stumbled onto the buck again and shot him. He came back and got us and the kids got to see the deer.
McKinlee wanted to pet the deer.
McKinlee and I left before Darren started to gut the deer and Ty wanted to stay and watch. I told him he wouldn't like it but he didn't want to leave.

It didn't take long for Ty to come join us, he thought it was gross!

Heading back to camp.
Shadow played in this mudhole on the way and the way back. He loves the water!
