We're off to see the Wizard...

Wednesday was the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz and it was in the theater for one night only. My kids love this show, so we went and seen it. It was fun watching it with an audience in the theater. Everybody clapped after Judy Garland sang Over the Rainbow and also at the end of the movie.

State Fair

We went to the State Fair on Friday. It was pretty fun, but really hot. We spent a lot of money on drinks and icees. We had a good time and seen some fun things.
Of course, they rode the ponies.

I think the rabbits were their favorite of the animals.

There was a bear show that we watched. The bears
did some neat tricks.

They had a display for the kids to pretend that
they were working on a farm. It was cute.
Ty and McKinlee both loved the giant slide. McKinlee cried when they got off because she wanted to go again. So they went again!

The Heber Creeper

Last weekend we went and rode the Heber Creeper with my mom and Melinda. I haven't rode it all the way down the canyon since I was very young and went with my Grandma and Grandpa Nielson. It was a fun and the kids liked it. It rained on us a little and a time or two the rain was blowing in the car pretty good, but overall, it was nice and cool.
At the depot.
Ty thought the train whistle was pretty loud.
McKinlee liked watching out the side of the car.

McKinlee pooped out on the way back to Heber.

Green Tomato Raspberry Jam

With the weather changing, this is a great way to use up your green tomatoes if you have lots left on the vines. My neighbor told me how to make this and I thought it sounded gross. I tried it and it was really good and tastes like raspberry jam.

5 Cups Green Tomatoes (pureed)
5 Cups Sugar
1 (6 ounce) Package Raspberry Gelatin

Combine tomatoes and sugar in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir and cook about 10 minutes. Add the gelatin, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Spoon into hot, sterilized jars and seal; or, pour into freezer containers and freeze.

Tumbling

Ty is taking a tumbling class once a week after school. I thought it would be a great way for him to release some of his energy. There are three boys in the class and he really liked it the first day. He had fun stretching and rolling down the mats with all of the other kids.

Student of the Day

Ty was student of the day at school on Wednesday. He was so excited he to tell me when he came out of the school. He got a whistle from his teacher and a certificate for "good listening". Good job Ty!

I dude it!

McKinlee has become so independent lately and wants to do everything herself. She is always saying "I dude it".

She has to make her own chocolate milk now, she doesn't want anybody to do it for her anymore.

She makes it really chocolaty!

Labor Day Picnic

We had a picnic with my mom, Leanne, Brenda & Melinda on Labor Day. We met them up Payson Canyon and roasted hot dogs.

We stopped at Bear Campground on the way home.

We saw the turkey's on the way home too.

Two Down

Ty lost his second tooth last night. His two new ones have already come in behind the baby teeth.
McKinlee's checking out his mouth.

These two have so much fun together.

His loot from the Tooth Fairy!
