Cornbelly's

We made it to Cornbelly's again this year, it was really fun last year, so we decided to go again. Ty and McKinlee had a fun time with all the activities.

Riding the cow train.

The slides were their favorite. Ty would go down three or four times to McKinlee's one. She was kind of slow getting back up to the top. They could have done that all day.

McKinlee was so brave, she tried everything Ty did.

Cookout

We went up Nephi Canyon for dinner to enjoy the fall colors. This is my favorite time of year, I love to go and see the leaves. We roasted hot dogs and had a good time together. McKinlee gathering wood to build a fire.
Snacking before dinner.

Ty picked out pumpkin cookies for dessert!

Project Fence

We are finally going to have a fenced yard for the kids. I am really excited to have the yard fenced from the busy road. It will be really nice to have the privacy also. Hopefully it will be done soon so we can enjoy it. I will post some pictures of the finished project later.

Darren's friend came and dug the post holes for him.

Why Carve Pumpkins?

The story of the Jack o'Lantern comes from Irish folklore. Jack was a crafty farmer who tricked the Devil into climbing a tall tree. When the Devil reached the highest branch, Jack carved a large cross in the trunk, making it impossible for the Devil to climb down. In exchange for help getting out of the tree, the Devil promised never to tempt Jack with evil again. When Jack died, he was turned away from Heaven for his sins and turned away from Hell because of his trickery. Condemned to wander the Earth without rest, Jack carved out one of his turnips, took an ember from the devil, and used it for a lantern to light his way. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern."

Ty brought the pumpkins back to the porch for carving.
He has been playing with them in the yard this week. Melinda
and Brenda came to our house to carve pumpkins with us.

Picking the Perfect Pumpkin

Ty and McKinlee had fun picking out pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. We went to the Red Barn last Saturday and took a wagon ride to the patch. There were lots of pumpkins to choose from, it was fun to see them playing out in the field with all the pumpkins.

Cornbelly's

We took the kids to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point a few weeks ago. There was lots of fun activities for the kids. We went on a bumpy wagon ride through the pumpkin patch and one of the workers thought that Darren was supposed to be our tractor driver...It was funny. The kids (and Darren) rode the cow train. Ty had a blast and did not want to leave, we may end up going again.
